Following the tragedy of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, thousands of children were orphaned and homeless. Though we responded immediately, aided by an outpouring of employee generosity, we want to do more than disaster relief. As a first step in establishing a long-term corporate citizenship plan to help children in need, we partnered with SOS Children's Villages to create the Supporting Lives Programme.

SOS Children's Villages is an international non-governmental organisation working to provide permanent, stable homes for orphaned and abandoned children in a family-like structure. Like Numico at that time, SOS Children's Villages seeks to help the vulnerable and the very young. We specialise -among others- in life-sustaining nutrition; SOS specialises in life-sustaining care. With a presence in 37 countries where we also have operations, SOS Children's Villages is an ideal global partner.
