In December last year, France launched its SupportingLives programme with the local SOS Children’s Villages organisation. Both the baby and clinical division chose to financially support the building of an additional family house in Marange-Silvange, a small village in the northeast of France.
About Marange-Silvange
Since its creation in 1964, the SOS village Marange-Silvange has welcomed 277 children. Today, 50 children live there with their SOS mothers in 9 family Francehouses. Unfortunately the SOS Children’s Villages organisation has to refuse a great number of demands. And this is why the baby and clinical division
have decided to financially contribute to build a 10th family house which can welcome 6 additional children. We are proud of our participation in this project and look forward to the beginning of the work which is due to start mid April.
Employee Collaboration
The French employees also have the possibility to financially support the building of this family house in Marange-Silvange. In the days following the launch of the programme, they have shown their generosity by sending their donations directly to the association. The employees’ donations, collected in December, were doubled by the company.
Clemence Beck, one of the representatives of the French SOS Children’s Villages organisation, was invited to the reception which closed our annual convention in February and we were all very pleased on this occasion to give her the cheque for our donation. Other donations have been sent to the association since January. We are confident that this will continue through out the year. And here again, the company will double the amount.
Milupa Nutricia Programme
Because we are especially impressed by the devotion of the SOS mothers, Milupa Nutricia also decided to support their recruitment and training. The Nutricia brand is involved in this project through a promotional operation during May and June. For every tin of Lemiel 2 and Nutricia 2 sold during these two months, 10 cents will be donated to the association.
