Since 2004, our Turkish baby food team has supported a programme to improve the time and personal care devoted to looking after babies in the country's largest infant orphanage, in Istanbul. By funding the wages of independent support staff, they have helped to reduce the ratio of 'mothers' caring for babies during the day from a ratio of 30:1 to 12:1. The team is now looking to find and to fund physiotherapists and special skills teachers for some severely disadvantaged children in the same orphanage.
