Enamul, a boy in class eleven from the SOS Youth Facility Bogra, expressed his feelings about his SOS mother in a letter:

Dear Mama,

It is true that I am not your own flesh and blood yet you are my mother. You have brought me up and looked after me from infancy with great love and care. Without your loving care my existence would have been impossible. I have grown up under your boundless affection and warmth. Your joy knows no bounds when I am happy, if I am in difficulty you become very anxious.

Maa (Hindi word for mother), you are kind, honest, loving and sympathetic to others. You have always created a congenial atmosphere in the house so that your children could imbibe noble behaviour. Your keen interest in shaping my character has made me what I am and what I aspire to be. I am thankful to Allah that He has blessed me with a mother like you.

I shall never forget even for a moment the love and care with which you have brought me up. Mama it is you who taught me to read and write. You have always given me good advice and forbidden me to do wrong. You are my role model and a source of joy and inspiration in my life. I love and respect you deeply.
