- Get Involved
-
Your participation will be the foundation of Supporting Lives Programme. Numico employees are already involved in helping disadvantaged youth in their communities — for example, in Turkey. In every region with Numico operations, there are opportunities to assist through an SOS Children's Village. Beyond fundraising, Numico employees can share their knowledge and provide assistance to the villages or local offices. Join your colleagues worldwide in helping orphans and abandoned children get the care they need and deserve.
Initially, local Managing Directors will lead local efforts for their facilities. Ultimately, we may appoint Numico SOS Children's Villages Ambassadors who will run local projects. Contact your local Managing Director or Ambassador with any project or fundraising ideas. If appropriate, the MD or Ambassador will present the idea to SOS and Numico corporate representatives. Then, the local offices and corporate leaders will work together to create a project plan. After review by both Numico and SOS Children's Villages head offices, an approved plan is ready to be put into action.
How you can help
Participation in Supporting Lives can come in any number of forms. From fundraising to volunteering, employee involvement programmes can be uniquely designed in local markets. All activities must be approved by your local Managing Director and/or Ambassador. We encourage employees to submit their ideas and hope to have many projects in action on a local level.
Ways to get involved
Each SOS Village has different needs or policies. For the best ways to offer assistance, contact your local SOS Office to learn about the best ways you can help. Below are some suggestions to stimulate projects, fundraising and involvement.
-
Programme Support: Charity budgets can be allocated to local programmes implemented or funded by SOS Children's Villages.
-
Volunteerism: Employees could be given time off to volunteer with SOS on their own, as part of a company outing or in order to raise funds. Employee recognition programmes, spotlighting behaviour aligned with Numico's commitment to SOS, are also a good way to spur participation.
-
In-Kind Support: SOS welcomes in-kind donations for programme operations and campaign support, such as media space or underwriting costs of local or national ads.
-
Knowledge Support: Employees can help SOS develop operations know-how. Logistics support, introductions to business networks, and administrative help are all ways to get involved. Medical/nutritional scientists and professionals with PhDs can offer assistance in clinics and hospitals.
-
Sponsorships: You could sponsor SOS Children's Villages programme meetings, fundraising events and publications.
-
Fundraising: Company, regional and individual initiatives can be successful in raising funds for needy children.
-
Projects: Fundraising and activities focused on a specific project (such as a medical centre, social centre, school, etc.) based on employee interest and expertise.
