- Employee Fundraising
-
The outpouring of employee generosity in the wake of the Tsunami is a testament to our dedication to Numico's mission to help the vulnerable. Our ability to raise funds – both internally and externally – is vital to our new alliance with SOS. Numico wants to emphasise that participation or contribution to fundraising is entirely at an employee's discretion and is not required.
Tips on Fundraising
-
Organise your office or region by soliciting ideas and suggestions from employees – programmes should make sense for your market. Fundraising advisory groups can be effective in organising and motivating involvement.
Create specific campaign goals, such as number of hours volunteered or funds raised in a set time period. Creating a friendly office competition can also encourage participation.
-
Ensure transparency of fundraising initiatives, including tracking funds and how/where donations will be used.
Fundraising ideas include:
-
Matching gift programmes: €1 donated by a local business for each €1 contributed by an employee and/or retiree.
-
Sponsor: Company bake sales, car washes, art shows/exhibits, auctions, charity dinner, jubilee events
-
Holidays: Collect Christmas bonuses or other holiday themed collections
-
Educational programme on orphans: "Lunch and learn" sessions with local SOS speaker
-
Donate your Day: On a specific date, employees donate a percentage of their salary
-
"It Takes a Village" Exhibition: Photo artwork from SOS Children's Villages families are put on travelling display at schools, community centres
-
"Join the Village" School Programme: Partner with local schools to develop educational curriculum about orphans; classes can participate in local fundraising activities.
-
Family "Sit-In" or "Adopt-a-Village" Day: Partner with parent and toddler playtime groups for a Saturday indoor playtime; money that family would usually use for a weekend outing is donated to a designated "adopted" SOS Children's Village.
-
"Helping Grow Healthy Families" Day/Week: Partner with large grocery retailer to organise in store events, e.g., yoga, nutrition, organised around the Supporting Lives programme. Link with theme of "grow your family; help us help others."
