- France kicks off local Supporting Lives programme
-
2 January 2007
In December, the French baby and clinical divisions kicked off the Supporting Lives programme together with the local SOS Children’s Villages organisation.
The meeting began with the presentation of the Supporting Lives programme and the viewing of Jan Bennink’s video message.
Clemence Beck, Responsible for Partnerships with Companies, presented the organisation’s history and activities in France. The organisation focuses its actions on brothers and sisters who have suffered psychological and physical cruelties. Most of our employees didn’t know the SOS Children’s Villages charity and discovered the concept of the SOS Villages and the very important and essential mission of SOS mothers. The emotion was very intense, especially after a video showing the life and the commitment of Brigitte, a SOS Mother in the city of Calais.
Because all employees are convinced that it is essential for brothers and sisters to live and grow up together, Milupa Nutricia and Nutricia Nutrition Clinique have chosen to financially support the construction of a family house in the town of Marange-Silvange, in the northeast of France. Construction will start in April of this year and the children and their SOS mother are expected in Marange-Silvange by the end of 2007. Our French employees also have the opportunity to financially support this specific project and we have decided to double each euro they will send directly to the SOS organisation!
Because we are especially impressed by the devotion of the SOS mothers, Milupa Nutricia has also decided to support their recruitment and training, through a promotional operation that will be launched in April.
Our meeting finished with a very interesting question/answer session.
The next step: the presentation of the Nutricia baby food promotional campaign during our national sales meeting in February 2007 and the launch of an internal challenge to employees.
