Portugal Supporting Lives results for 2006

16 February 2007

Portugal launched its local Supporting Lives Programme in October 2006. Many things have happend since and below are the result for 2006, totalling € 21,000:

Art Contest – € 12,000

This event turned out to be a huge success. The children of the SOS Children's Villages provided us with the most beautiful drawings. As planned we, at Milupa, awarded each selected entry for the Corporate Calendar with € 1,000. This kicked off our fundraising.

Christmas cards – € 3,346

Milupa employees were very enthusiastic when given the opportunity to buy Christmas cards with designs made by SOS Children's Villages kids.

Aptamil 3 charity drive – € 6,000

To raise Supporting Lives funds, Milupa has joined with retail partners throughout the country. For every tin of Aptamil 3 (a milk intended for babies after initial breastfeeding) sold in October and November 2006, a certain amount was donated to SOS Children's Village Guarda.

Collection per supermarket:

ITMI – € 1,800
Feira Nova – € 2,200
Auchan – € 2,000

Christmas Party

The Milupa team will hosted a Christmas party with SOS Children's villages. The themed party—Pirates of the Caribbean—took place on 16 December in Lisbon and was another chance for our people to meet the SOS caretakers and families.
