30 August 2006
On 30 August 2006, the Numico Supporting Lives programme for orphans and orphanages was officially inaugurated at a celebration in Numico's WTC Schiphol Headquarters, Amsterdam. The event was hosted by the Executive Board of Numico, and attended by HQ employees and several guests from our charitable partner organisation SOS Children's Villages.
Special guest speakers including Albert Jaap, Director of the Netherlands arm of SOS Children's Villages, Michiel Quarles of Numico Corporate Communications, and Jan Bennink, Numico's President and CEO. Participants heard about the committed voluntary work of SOS Children's Villages across the world, and the difference that every contribution makes to the lives of children in need. They also heard an update on the building progress at Numico's first adopted Children's Village - in Aceh Indonesia.
It is hoped that many more orphanages will be adopted by Numico's country organisations in the coming months.
On this site you can find a video of the launch event, including many interviews and all the presentations.
